Our Story
Bark & Bramble was built around one simple goal: helping dog owners make informed choices. Meet the family behind the business.
Meet Winston
Every great journey starts somewhere, and ours started with a Golden Retriever called Winston. He is the reason Bark & Bramble exists.
From the day we brought him home, Winston faced challenges with a poultry allergy. It caused itching, hair loss, poor-quality stools and obvious discomfort. Like many dog owners, we found ourselves navigating confusing packaging, conflicting advice and an overwhelming number of products, hoping to find what genuinely worked for him.
Each success and setback taught us more about dog nutrition, wellbeing and the importance of looking beyond clever marketing. We learned to read ingredients carefully, question broad claims and focus on foods that offered clear, transparent information. Choosing the right dog food should not feel like guesswork, particularly when a dog has allergies or sensitivities.
Winston soon became our adventure companion. Together, we explored the United Kingdom before travelling through 10 countries across Europe and into Turkey. During those travels, we experienced first-hand how difficult it can be to consistently find high-quality pet products. In Italy, Winston became seriously unwell with severe bowel inflammation after we were unable to maintain the standard of nutrition we knew suited him. Ending our trip and returning home for the care he needed was an easy decision, but it reinforced how important trusted nutrition can be.
We also learned never to take product safety for granted. During a walk in Lyme Regis, Winston's collar unexpectedly failed. Thankfully, he was safe, but the experience made us question how many products are truly designed and made to do the job owners rely on them for.
Winston remains at the heart of everything we do. He inspires our research, appears in our content and reminds us why careful choices matter: helping owners feel confident in what they give their dogs.

Meet Lewis
I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up with dogs and cats gave me a lifelong appreciation for their care, character and wellbeing.
Before co-founding Bark & Bramble, I served in the British Army and then spent eight years working in an NHS Emergency Department. Both roles shaped the way I approach responsibility, integrity and decision-making. They taught me the importance of staying calm, looking closely at the available information and making choices based on evidence rather than assumption.
Raising Winston brought those values into everyday life as a dog owner. Managing his food sensitivities, researching his nutrition and experiencing a failed collar made me determined to understand more about product safety and quality. Our travels across Europe strengthened that resolve.
I believe choosing the right dog food, treats or accessories should not feel confusing or risky. We want to provide carefully selected options, honest advice and clear information, so owners can make decisions that feel right for their own dog.

Meet Lauren
I have always been drawn to caring for others. I studied Adult Nursing at the University of Surrey, spent five years working in Accident & Emergency, where I met Lewis, and later progressed into Cancer Care. I then began Master's training at Bournemouth University as a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
My healthcare background has shaped a meticulous, evidence-based approach and close attention to detail. Those qualities naturally carried over when Winston joined our family. We wanted to understand exactly what was in his food, whether products were safe, and what would genuinely support his health and happiness.
I became frustrated by the lack of ingredient transparency and inconsistent quality across many mainstream pet products. So, I spent countless hours researching ingredients, nutritional standards, safety and the claims made on packaging.
That work became part of the foundation for Bark & Bramble. We believe owners deserve clear information, not pressure or jargon. Our aim is to make quality products easier to find, easier to understand and easier to choose with confidence.
